CF Sports Awards Ceremony

By Brenna Morell

The CF Personnel Support Agency (CFPSA) continues to honour the exceptional sporting accomplishments of CF athletes, coaches, officials, and teams from the five CF environments-Maritime Command, Land Force Command, Air Command, Chief Military Personnel and Vice Chief of the Defense Staff.

This second of seven CF Sports Awards features highlights the five nominees for Male Athlete of the Year Award. It is an incredibly diverse group of male athletes that includes a marksman, cyclist, basketball player, distance and marathon runner whose accomplishments throughout the year have been outstanding.

"The athleticism within the Canadian Forces is always exceptional," says André Bouchard, President of SISIP Financial Services (SISIP FS). "SISIP FS has been the presenting sponsor of this event for more than 10 years, and each year we are amazed by the commitment of these individuals who not only excel within the sporting world, but who dedicate their lives to serving our country. For this, they're all winners."

The winners will be announced at the 18th annual CF Sports Awards Ceremony on October 21, in Ottawa, and will appear in The Maple Leaf the following week.

The CF National Sports Program, organized by the Personnel Support Programs (PSP) division of the CFPSA, promotes fitness and good health within the military community, and thus, contributes to the CF's mandate of operational readiness.
