Sponsorship in support of amateur and/or elite athletes provides sponsors with high visibility and provides athletes with an opportunity to train and compete at their highest personnel level. There are 19 official CF National Sports Championship events held annually at bases across the country. The CF National Sports Program  has 60 CF Regional Competitions with over 8,500 participants and the CF National Championships has over 1,750 participants. PSP also coordinates Canada's involvement in international military sporting events - Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM).  CISM is comprised of 133 member nations, and the top CF athletes compete in 13 Military World Sport Championships.
