To All The Men And Women Of The Canadian Armed Forces:
February 3, 2004

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone for making my trip to Bosnia an extremely memorable experience. It truly was an honor to be able to perform for you and bond with you. We as Canadians are so blessed to live in a country so wonderful as Canada. I know, without a doubt, it is because of fine men and women like yourselves who protect that privilege and right to do so. For that, I can, will and do salute you.
I have seen first hand the 24-7 dedication you commit to and how you enjoy and take pride in all that you do - I just wish I had a third of your discipline and dedication. It was so much fun spending every waking minute talking with you and listening to your stories whether it was over a couple of beers, cigarettes and coffee, eating in the mess or chatting in the hallways - I truly enjoyed those special times. You my friends are the reason we are able to call this great land of ours Canada, hands down you are the best there is - anyplace, anytime, anywhere.
I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to do and see so many new and wonderful things during my two and a half weeks over in Bosnia - not everyone is so fortunate to get a chance to see first hand the difference you are making - you've given me great memories that I'll have for a lifetime. I hope somehow, someway I can give back to you what you have given me. It would be a great honor to once again be able to perform for you - our Canadian troops - whether it be in Canada or overseas.
I met so many wonderful people during my trip and everyone made me feel so welcome. I certainly do feel as though I have become part of a family, a very big family, called the Canadian Armed Forces. I have always been a loud and proud Canadian, but after spending the time I was blessed to spend with you, I am a much louder and prouder Canadian.
My friends, it has been a great honor and until our paths cross again, keep safe, God speed and U ROCK!
Yours truly,
Julian Austin
