Sears Canada calls on families of our deployed
Sears Canada is calling on the families of our deployed to help send giant greetings to Afghanistan in time for the holiday season. Specifically, Sears is inviting family members to submit their digital photos to be placed on a 16’ x 4’ banner destined for Afghanistan in time for the holiday season.
Families are invited to submit their photos to searsoperationwish@pimedia.com now through to October 20th, 2008. Photos received will be posted on the special banner and circulated to Sears stores in major cities across Canada where Canadians will be invited to write messages to the troops.
In coordination with Canadian Forces Personnel and Family Support Services (CFPFSS), Sears will be sending this banner to Afghanistan where it will be hung on Canada House. The troops will be able see some familiar faces from home and read well wishes from Canadians over the holidays.
This initiative is the latest addition to Sears’ Operation Wish; an annual initiative that brings together Canadians to support the troops and their families through the unique challenges the holidays bring them.
Operation wish is a part of the support Sears provides to local and national Canadian Forces morale and welfare programs including Op Santa Claus, Soldier On, Military Families Fund, the CF Sports Awards Ceremony as well as support to various Military Family Resources Centres.
