Keeping Families Connected
For several months now, Director Military Family Services (DMFS) has been busy developing a Canadian Forces (CF) family website. As work is swiftly progressing, we’re committed to keeping family services stakeholders in the loop.
After much deliberation, we have settled on a name. The new website will be called familyforce.ca. It’s catchy, it’s family-centric and it keeps the uniqueness of the military lifestyle front and centre. It also fits in nicely with the Military Families: Strength Behind the Uniform campaign. We hope you like it, and we hope the families you serve will too.
Familyforce.ca will link CF families to Canadian/Military Family Resource Centres (C/MFRCs), online resources and provide ways for them to connect with each other – all from one single point of entry. It will take the 40-some C/MFRC websites currently in use and bring them together under one central, easy-to-use directory so that families can connect with their local C/MFRC quickly and easily. For families in remote locations who can’t connect to a physical centre, familyforce.ca will provide online military family services. The site will also provide links to DMFS’ national services, from the Mission Information Line and CF Family Secretariat to various brochures and resources.
At the direction of the Chief Military Personnel, familyforce.ca is scheduled to launch 1 September 2009.
