Canada Company Scholarship Fund Supports Military Families
For youth who have lost a parent on a Canadian Forces (CF) mission, the Canada Company Scholarship Fund hopes to make the future a little brighter.
A federally-incorporated, not-for-profit organization, Canada Company established the scholarship fund in 2007 to support post-secondary education for youth who have lost a parent in active duty since 1 January 2002. It is open to youth 16-25 years old who are enrolled in full-time post-secondary education, and retroactive scholarship funds may be available for those who have completed their education since that date.
The fund provides up to $4000 per year for up to four years. With average Canadian undergraduate tuition sitting around $4700 per year in 2008/2009, that’s a sizable contribution to the fees these young people may face.
Canada Company brings together the voices, knowledge and resources of the Canadian business community to support and advocate for CF personnel and their families. Canada Company supports CF members in their work abroad and their families at home through a variety of initiatives, from donating funds to hospital reconstruction projects in Afghanistan to supporting reservist employment initiatives.
