New Faces at DMFS
Annette Pinkney, Field Operations Manager
Annette was born and raised in Ontario, spending her childhood years in Ajax, Fraserville and North Bay. She began her undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Waterloo. After getting married in 1985, Annette moved to Brockville and transferred to Queen’s University in Kingston to complete her undergraduate degree.
Currently, Annette resides in Gananoque, Ontario with her husband and two teenaged boys. Annette credits these three men in her life for supporting her return to Queen’s as an adult to complete a Master of Public Administration degree in 2007. She did a lot of studying in hockey rinks and at football fields!
Annette has over 20 years of experience working in mental health, public health, volunteerism and family support, in institutional settings and with charitable organizations. She has ties to the Canadian Forces through her father-in-law and maternal grandfather, who were World War II veterans, and through her own experience working with military families. Prior to her appointment as Field Operations Manager, Annette was the Executive Director of the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC).
In her new position with DMFS, Annette seeks to further what she has learned in her studies and career by supporting MFRCs and other organizations that assist military families. Annette looks forward to this new challenge and to getting to know the DMFS team.
