300 volunteers honoured by 5 ASG!

May 5, 2006, the 5th Volunteer Dinner of 5 ASG, Montreal region, was held. Close to 300 people attended this event that was chaired by Maj Jean-Guy Charland, G4, HQ, 5 ASG.

The Volunteer Dinner is part of the Volunteer Recognition Program sponsored by SISIP Financial Services (SISIP FS). Based on the population of the various bases, SISIP FS share a budget of $100,000 among the 34 locations with PSP and/or Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) representation. The Montreal region received $4,000 and an additional $5,000 from 5 ASG. Volunteers honoured at these evenings are members of the various PSP clubs or organizations. They support activities involving MFRCs, the James Park community, messes, the Servir newspaper, Scouts and the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC).

Volunteer Recognition Program (VOREP) MFRC National Capital Region (NRC) celebration evening took place on June 9, 2006 at the Centurion Conference Centre. The event was a great success and included a three-course meal, murder mystery, and dancing.
