Escalating his support for the Canadian military community, singer and songwriter Julian Austin lays a wreath, on behalf of CANEX, at the Remembrance Day ceremony at CFB Petawawa.

“Julian Austin just returned from doing a tour in Afghanistan to entertain our troops. I had been in touch with Julian upon his return to Canada, and asked if he would be interested in laying our wreath on November 11, and he did so, on our behalf,” says Gerald Doner, CFB Petawawa CANEX Retail Store Manager.

In his latest concert for troops in Afghanistan, Austin sang his newest release entitled “The Red and White”. Through the lyrics Austin questions the Canadian commitment to the military. In a straightforward approach he asks if we, as Canadians, have forgotten soldiers who fought and died for the red and white.

Austin’s father was a member of the Canadian Forces in Gagetown, and “The Red and White” was written specifically for our Canadian troops. In this heart-warming and emotional piece, Austin connects with many in the military community.

Further substantiating his admiration for Canadian heroes, Austin will give the proceeds from the sale of “The Red and White” back to the military community.
