HR Certificate of Merit

The following people received the Human Resources Certificate of Merit for 2004/05. Presenting the award was Gérard Étienne, who was Vice-President Human Resources for CFPSA until September 2005.

Léon Nöel, Health & Safety Manager: Léon single-handedly guided CFPSA in complying with the Health and Safety Act. Through perseverance and hard work, he has developed a comprehensive policy framework, which aligns CFPSA programs with Health and Safety standards, while respecting the uniqueness of NPF.

Josée Larocque, Recruiting Assistant: With a pleasant smile and calm demeanor, Josée leads the CFPSA HQ recruitment strategy, by providing excellent quality service to all customers. With Josée, nothing is left to chance. The credit for her excellent work is well deserved.

Imm Yong, Director Diversity and Equity: Imm has challenged CFPSA with complying to the Employment Equity (EE) Act. Following an audit from the Canadian Human Rights Commission, Imm has taken a lead role to ensure that CFPSA provides itself with a robust Employment Equity Plan. Imm has received several kudos from the Human Rights Commission, and recently from an EE representative, who was impressed by the quality of information available on the CFPSA web site.

Kristina Shwaykowski, Human Resources Programs Assistant: Kristina was involved in the major undertaking of the pension buy-back program. She became the voice that NPF employees heard when they had questions. She provided quality customer service, and professionally addressed many difficult situations. Her expertise in pension carries over with her, to other responsibilities within the HR Division.

Kim Ann Charest, Policies and Programs Development Manager: Kim Ann has done a tremendous job in making the NPF Employee Assistance Program a reality. This program represents her vision and her desire to ‘Serve Those Who Serve’. She has undertaken a number of initiatives in the policy area, which will lead us closer to being an “employer of choice”. Her broad knowledge in all.aspects of HR, and strong leadership skills, represent a great asset to CFPSA.
