Customer service is the cornerstone of any successful business. So if you want your business to succeed, work on keeping your customers happy. Here are a few tips:

  • First impressions are important, so make sure you make a good one.
  • Consider both people from outside the company, as well as your colleagues, as customers.
  • Train everyone to provide excellent customer service, not just at the customer service desk, but every member of the agency.
  • Empower your staff by giving them the authority to do whatever it takes to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • When dealing with complaints or queries, make sure the service is genuine, and comes from the heart.
  • Stay focused on your customers. Be courteous and maintain eye contact. Don’t do other things while talking or listening. Give them your undivided attention. Remember the maxim “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
  • Don’t just offer one-word answers. Ask questions to help determine their needs.
  • Get involved with what your customer is planning or purchasing.
  • Practice saying “let me double check for you.” This shows the customers that you are actually listening to them.
  • Talk to them, listen to them, laugh with them, and enjoy their company. Make sure that your customers are happy and satisfied when they leave.
  • And smile, smile, smile.
