Message From The CEO
![]() |
The hot, hazy days of summer are over and autumn activities are transitioning to winter. Change and growth is all around us.
In the next several issues of Apropos, we will highlight CFPSAs strategic objectives, first developed in early 2004 and refined in the spring of this year.
While the titles may not mean much to you right now, by the end of the series I hope that you clearly understand where we are trying to go.
Education and Communication

In my first year as CEO, it has been apparent to me that neither Non-Public Property (NPP) nor the structure and role of CFPSA, including our separate employer status, are universally understood. These concepts can be confusing not only to those outside our organization but often to those of us who are part of the NPP team. We are committed to improving that situation and Apropos has a key role in achieving this objective internally. In this issue, our DND/CF Legal Advisor, Mary Turner, begins a series in which she attempts to unravel the mysteries of Non-Public Property.
As usual, this issue also communicates to you what is happening in the organization. It presents a good explanation of who we are on page 7, and highlights the accomplishments of our people on pages 4, 5 and 6. You will also read about how we are telling other people what we do, via our NPP InfoService kiosks on page 8. Communication is two-way. We welcome your feedback.
After a brief break over the summer period, my visits to the field have begun again. In September I had the opportunity to meet many of you involved in the provision of support services to our CF members and their families working in Geilenkerchen, Germany, and Casteau and Brussels, Belgium. I was also pleased to be able to participate in NATEXs 20th Anniversary celebrations. Our sincere congratulations to Diana Sousa, VP NATEX and her hard-working team. Great work and good luck in the next 20!
