CFB Halifax newspaper The Trident accepts award

The Canadian Community Newspapers Association has awarded the "Best Canadian Forces Newspaper" to The Trident, from CFB Halifax.
The award was presented in a ceremony at the Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) Conference, held in conjunction with the Canadian Forces Newspaper Association (CFNA) Conference in Banff. Judges complemented The Trident on their tight factual news stories, well-cropped photos, and precise layout techniques.
Trident editor Lynn Devereaux accepted the award on behalf of the staff at the newspaper. "It was an honour to accept this award for my staff," says Devereaux. "They are a dedicated group of professionals and I am proud to be a part of this team."
It was a winning week for Devereaux, who was also elected president of the CFNA during the conference. ""The Canadian Forces Newspapers have grown collectively by sharing best practices and building on each newspaper's success," says Devereaux. "I look forward to contributing to this association and working with Stephen Boates as VP, Corina DeGuire as treasurer, and Capt Sterling Cripps as secretary."
Other CF newspapers nominated include, Lookout (CFB Esquimalt), Aurora (CFB Greenwood), and Contact (CFB Trenton)

The Organizing Committee hosted teams from Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Trinidad & Tobago, and the United States and worked hard to ensure the overall success of the tournament held in CFB Esquimalt February 15-24, 2005.

On 21 April 2005, Rick Harris became the first PSP Manager at 17 Wing Winnipeg. Rick comes to the position with over 28 years experience as a member of the CF. This includes time as the Wing Pers Svcs O at 17 Wing where he gained a valuable insight into CFPSA and the PSP organization and a deployment as NSU Comptroller as part of Op APOLLO. Rick is looking forward to assisting the Wing PSP staff in maintaining the high quality and diversity of programs that they offer to the 17 Wing community and many units from Thunder Bay to the Alberta/Saskatchewan border.
