Connecting Youth Website

This past fall, a committee consisting of youth from Canadian and European locations was created to determine what they would consider the key components of a website intended to connect youth from CF families. The committee was also responsible for developing real content to be used on the website.
In addition to the development of content to help populate the site, the youth committee did extensive work related to the look and feel of the site. The design of the website is intended to reflect the needs and interests of the audience it targets. The website is going for a by kids for kids approach.
The National Youth Project Team is tremendously pleased and excited about the work that has been completed to date. The development of the technical pieces will continue into early 2005 and the youth committee will continue to be involved in the creation until the site is launched later in 2005.
A working site with examples of content mock-ups is available for viewing at www.connectingcfyouth.ca.

This project was made possible through National Defence On Line (NDOL). Established in 2001, the NDOL program is the National Defence component of the Government On-Line (GOL) initiative. The program objective is to assist DND/CF organizations in using Internet technologies to improve the delivery of on-line business services and information. The program focus is on webbased business transformation and this will continue after the PMO is closed out in March, 2005.
