CFSU Ottawa held their Long Service and Retirement Awards reception on September 23, 2004 at the RCAF Officers' Mess in Ottawa.

Donna Tanner and Gina Neufeld, NPF accounting employees at 17 Wing Winnipeg, recently received their Long Service Awards. Donna received her 10 year service award and Gina received her 30 year service award. Gina has spent her entire career in NPF accounting and is one of the longest serving NPF employees.

Andy Moreau, the Trenton CANEX Super Mart manager, recently received the CFS Alert Base Commander's Certificate of Commendation. Over the past year Andy has contributed to the morale of the troops at Canada's most northerly military post by ensuring that the merchandise needed to maintain a decent quality of life was delivered in a timely and cost effective manner. The fact that Andy won this award as a civilian underlines the importance of his contribution, and CANEX is extremely proud of Andy for winning this award.

In August 2004, Mac McMillan received the CFB Suffield Base Commander's Commendation. The commendation read in part, “His outstanding management of the base's CANEX store project has created a legacy for decades to come, and provides current and future members of the base with exceptional service." Mac has since moved to CANEX HQ in Ottawa as the National Manager, Store Operations.

Gaetane Pothier, HR Assistant, 4 Wing Cold Lake, earned the Civilian of the Quarter Award for the first quarter of 2004.

Bobbi Howard-Muir, Fitness, Sports and Recreation Director at 19 Wing Comox, recently received her MBA from Royal Roads University in Victoria. Bobbi completed the two-year study program on her own time, using her vacations to cover her compulsory courses.

Despite the focus on her education, Bobbi maintained high standards at her job with PSP. She has just been appointed Acting PSP Manager for 19 Wing Comox, a position she will hold for the next year, in addition to her regular position.
