The CFPSA website recently received an "excellent" rating from the Canadian Web Awards. Established in 1999, the Canadian Web Awards recognize quality in websites that are Canadian friendly, informative, unique and benefit the Canadian consumer.
The CFPSA website is aimed at supporting military members as they carry out their daily routine, and improving their lives on base.
CF members and NPF employees can access online shopping, read the latest military news and check out what's happening in any CFPSA division with a mere click of a mouse. For the general public there's information on Deployed Ops, and a step-by-step guide to seeking a career with CFPSA.
Information changes frequently, and one of the biggest upcoming changes will be a new section where military members can find information about services specific to their location. The goal is to make the transition to a new base easier for military members and their families.
"I think that it is an honour for the website to have received the excellence rating for providing a 'Canadian Friendly Website,'" says Tracey Cousley, Corporate Web Development Manager. "There is never a lack of recognition for the web team's work from within CFPSA but to get the recognition from an outside source adds to our job satisfaction. It also reflects well upon the agency's motto of Serving Those Who Serve.
The scope and depth of the CFPSA website is attracting not only awards, but viewers. Visits to the site increased from 16,063 during March 2002, to 77,689 during March 2004.
