Employment Equity Survey Results
In 2003, approximately 5,000 NPF staff took part in a national Employment Equity self-identification survey. We have had an overwhelming 87% rate of returns on the survey. Based on these returns in 2003, about 62% of NPF Staff were women, 3.5% were Aboriginal persons, 3.4% were members of visible minorities and 6.3% were persons with disabilities.
The self-identification survey is an important tool that allows the CFPSA to better understand its current workforce makeup, which in turn allows us to better target Employment Equity activities to achieve a representative workforce. Currently, we are analyzing the survey data to produce a detailed Work Force Analysis (WFA) to help identify specific areas of concern for Designated Groups. Following our completion of the WFA, the information will be used to direct the Employment Systems Review (ESR), which will examine all NPF policies and practices. The ESR is intended to identify any barriers to for Designated Group members in all.aspects of employment.
We would like to extend our warm thanks to all respondents who completed the survey. To find out more about Diversity and Equity, please visit our web site at www.cfpsa.com/ee or contact the Director Diversity and Equity.
