Important changes to CFPAF programs

The CFPAF was established by the Chief of the Defence Staff, to provide financial assistance to serving or former members of the Canadian Forces and their immediate families. As well, CFPAF is a registered charitable organization.

In order to meet better the current needs of the military community, the Non Public Property (NPP) Board of Directors approved important changes to both the Financial Distress Program and the Education Assistance Loan Program (EALP) at CFPAF. These changes become effective on June 1, 2003.

The distress loan maximum has increased to $25,000, and these loans will now bear a two percent interest rate. In addition, the EALP maximum has been increased to $4,000, with a maximum lifetime per student that has increased to $16,000. The interest rate for the EALP will now be three percent.

SISIP open its 17th and 18th offices

On March 20 and 21, 2003, the SISIP Shilo and Winnipeg offices were officially opened. For this occasion, Mr. André Bouchard, Vice-President Financial Planning, spoke to more than150 attendees about the various SISIP products and services. Insurance, Financial Counseling and Financial Planning will be offered both in Shilo and Winnipeg by a team of qualified professionals who will be dedicating their time and effort in providing financial solutions to the military community for today…and tomorrow!
