A plan is a list of actions arranged in whatever sequence is though likely to achieve an objective.

Emergency situations can be stressful and even overwhelming. But with the right preparation and the development of a clear and concise plan, it's possible to professionally deal with any crisis.

Under the direction of the Non-Public Property Board of Directors (NPP BOD) and of the Executive Management Board (EXMB), CFPSA delivers a wide range of goods, services, and programs to military personnel and their families. In the event of an emergency, to streamline activities in support of operations, CFPSA monitors developments and provides input to NDHQ staff.

The CFPSA has also developed a crisis reaction action plan. It clearly outlines who should do what and when.

For example, CFPSA's executives and managers monitor the requirement for new services and identify funding requirements for additional activities.

Personnel Support Programs (PSP) are tasked to continue to provide support to deployed operations, including the provision of movies, books, welfare equipment like TVs, and canteen amenities. They will also work closely with the MFRCs to ensure the availability of emergency childcare and post-deployment support to families.

CANEX /NATEX are charged with providing support using local / regional infrastructure and supplier's logistics capability. For deployed operations, they can support the troops by ensuring the availability of personal hygiene and canteen amenities such as snacks and liquid refreshments.

SISIP can reallocate resources as required in support of Departure Assistance Groups (DAGs) and provide general information on life insurance and financial planning to all personnel.

In the support divisions, the CFO coordinates requirements with D Fin Ops and can advance funds to support new activities. The HR department can assist with temporary re-assignment of personnel and deal with any staffing issues resulting from deployed operations. Finally, the IA&R division can assist, as required, with audits and advice.

Ultimately, in any emergency situation, teamwork and cool heads are fundamental for success. But with a clear plan, it's possible to work through any crisis, while still effectively Serving those who serve.
