In an attempt to build on the National Football League's (NFL) Canadian fan base, the league generously donated Super Bowl replica game balls to be used at Canadian Forces (CF) youth events across the country. These game balls were made available to all locations wishing to hold a Super Bowl event for youth. A total of 43 footballs were distributed to 15 locations. Organizers were asked to develop events which promoted interest in the NFL and football itself.

In January, events were held across the country to celebrate the NFL Super Bowl and encourage youth participation in football. Due to the winter conditions, organizers had to be creative when planning events. Some participants chose to brave the cold and competed in skills competitions outside in the snow. Others preferred to stay where it was warm, playing in the gym or pool. While the events were all different, the theme was the same: fun. Thanks to the NFL and all the wonderful people in community recreation and youth services, coast to coast.
