The first class of 16 food services employees wrote their certification exam on March 29, 2003 and achieved an impressive average mark of 87 per cent.

Continuously reinforcing its commitment toward delivering quality food products and services, CANEX Food Services Ottawa Area has implemented a foodsafety training program in their food service outlets. “Even though we have never been implicated in incidents caused by improperly prepared or handled food or beverages, we must continue to be proactive in our efforts to provide safe wholesome products to our valued guests,” said Emile Lebel, Ottawa Area Food Services Manager / Food Safety Trainer. “Training our employees will create awareness and provide them with the opportunity to receive certification that is recognized by the food service industry throughout Canada.”
