It was an evening of celebration as a group of 300 gathered at the 14th Annual Canadian Forces Sports Awards Ceremony held at the Ottawa Congress Centre in Ottawa.

The theme of this year’s event was "Salute to the Officials", recognizing the enthusiasm, dedication and professionalism the officials bring to the Canadian Forces Sports Program. Apart from the participants themselves, models of enthusiastic dedication were the event’s organizer, Switch Rousseau, National Sports Manager, with the support of her team Kelly Cotton and Rock Gauthier.

So what is it that keeps Switch motivated? "It’s nice to see people be recognized. When you’re passionate about what you do, it’s easy to give so much". That must be how Switch Rousseau makes the six months of preparation look very easy indeed.

The Sports Awards Ceremony is the highlight of the sports year and made possible through the various sponsors including, most notably, 3M, whose support contributed to honouring the coaches, and The Royal Canadian Legion and SISIP who sponsored the Sports Awards Ceremony. Christopher Chance of General Dynamics Canada noted that they were "...very proud to be a sponsor of this activity, and equally proud of the men and women of the Canadian Forces". And so are we.
