From The President and Chief Executive Officer

Much like the people on our globe, every organization brings with it certain "personality traits", core values, and characteristics. For us, in the Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency/Non- Public Funds (CFPSA/NPF), these things mean striving to be an "employer of choice" – but what exactly is that?

We believe this means, amongst other things, showing respect to each other and to our clients, fostering a supportive workplace, and encouraging personal and professional development. In this context, we are looking at all the areas of employee management – training, skills development, recognition and reward, benefits, and recruitment – to ensure that we not only attract the best of the best, but that we keep them and continue to motivate them while elaborating better and improved programs and procedures in many areas.

Investing in our people is not only a vote of confidence in your talents – it’s also good management. Doing so provides each of us with the knowledge and skills we need to better serve our clients. It’s a win-win situation for our customers, the Canadian Forces (our patrons) and their families. top

At CFPSA/NPF, we are creating and pursuing a culture that celebrates individual differences and recognizes each of our unique contributions, but at the same time promotes professionalism and expertise. In this fashion, we are moving forward toward excellence.

Reflecting these values in everything we do enhances the value that our clients/customers place in the services, programs, activities, and goods we provide. I would encourage you to explore your career development within our organization. For those people whose personal core values reflect those of our agency, for those who are prepared to commit to a course of action required to gain the necessary skills and experience to move forward, the potential is tremendous. top

Over the years, one truism became evident in all the organizations and businesses where I worked – "happy employees make happy clients". Much as our recently staffed Health Promotion offices help people help themselves, our organization is prepared to support you in your career goals that dovetail with organizational direction. In so doing, we will all ensure that we have an unbeatable team of people "serving those who serve".
