Personnel support program (PSP) employees don’t take fitness lightly. For example, Marie Danais, National Physical Fitness Coordinator, is so fit, she won the Canadian Women's Long Distance Triathlon Championship in Cobden, Ontario this September. As a result, she is attending her first Ironman competition taking place this October in Hawaii. Additionally, Ben Ouellette, Research & Development Manager, participated in the Ironman Lake Placid Triathlon, and Darryl Allard, Health Promotion Delivery Manager (East), ran his first marathon in May. There are other PSP employees who do not compete in sporting events, but are seen in the gym or running along the Rideau Canal everyday at lunch. When asked why they exercise, they all agree: "fitness is just part of our culture".
