DMFS Field Operation Team

The Director Military Familiy Services (DMFS) Field Operations team met in Ottawa recently to welcome three new members and to participate in information and discussion sessions concerning their roles and responsibilities.

By participating in a number of team-building activities, the regional representatives got to know one another, as well as the various strengths each individual brings to the organization. A great deal of information, including insurance, emergency childcare, and second language training , was presented. Participants also attended sessions on audits, staff advisory visits, and health promotion.

The primary purpose of Field Operations is to improve the support received by all Canadian Military Family Resource Centres (C/MFRCs). This is accomplished by positioning a dedicated representative in the region being served. Under the direction of the DMFS Field Operations Manager, regional representatives provide direct professional and technical support to C/MFRCs in their area. These representatives have over 100 years of combined experience in the non-profit sector, in addition to specialized skills in military life, volunteer development, business management, adult education, health and welfare, project management, and facilitation. top

Field Operations are well underway, and the entire DMFS team is well positioned to embrace the future, whatever it may bring.

Celeste Gotell Field Operations Manager Pam Willis, supports centres in B.C., the North WestTerritories and southern Alberta.
