Spreading The Wealth: Second Annual $10,000 Shopping Spree Contest

Hot on the heels of last year's successful $10,000 Shopping Spree Contest, CANEX and The Personal Insurance Company of Canada (TPIC) are once again teaming up to offer Canadian Forces (CF) members the chance to win.

The contest, which runs until the end of November, gives CF members and their families the chance to win 10 million Club XTra points - a prize worth $10,000 redeemable at all CANEX retail outlets. New for this year, CANEX and The Personal are also giving away 10 runner-up shopping sprees worth 500,000 Club Extra Points each - an amount equal to $500 each.

"Last year's Shopping Spree Contest was a tremendous success," says Bob Brunet, CANEX National Manager. "This year, we're building on that success by freeing up more spaces in the winner's circle."

CF members can enter by simply renewing their insurance policy with The Personal or getting a quote on their home or car insurance. As an added incentive, current insurance policy holders who renew their property policy receive a bonus of 5,000 Club XTra points.

"Contest participants can't lose," says Brunet. "They receive insurance tailored to meet their needs at competitive rates and they get the chance to win 10 million Club XTra points. As well, a percentage of the money generated by policy sales goes directly to base funds and is used for the benefit of the entire CF community."

TPIC has been providing group home and auto insurance to the CF for 25 years. It gives CF members the flexibility and portability they need in their insurance policies. Also, because of its group buying power, TPIC can provide competitive rates.

The contest runs through November 15th. All existing policyholders who renew their insurance with TPIC will automatically be entered into the contest. Those who are not insured with TPIC can enter simply by calling for a quote. The 11 lucky winners will be advised of their good fortune by the end of November.

CANEX plans to market the event using posters strategically placed at all CF locations, in-store displays, and by placing ads in base newspapers. Information about TPIC's insurance policies can be found in promotional brochures in any CANEX outlet or at www.thepersonal.com/canex.
