With so many different support the CF initiatives popping up across the country, it’s important that all NPF, CF/ CFPSA staff understand and promote the CFPSA “Support Our Troops” campaign consistently across the country.

The CFPSA “Support Our Troops” campaign offers Canadians numerous easy and effective ways to support the entire CF community – that best benefit the CF.

Please work within this campaign when conducting “Support Our Troops” initiatives at your base and please encourage individuals looking to support to do so in accordance with the CFPSA’s official “Support Our Troops” campaign by directing them to www.cfpsa.com/supportourtroops.

Q: How can Canadians show their support?

A:
  • Buy official “Support Our Troops” merchandise
  • Post an online message to the troops
  • Advertise in CF Newspapers
  • Become an employee of the NPF, CF/CFPSA deployed or domestically
  • Offer military leave to employees or students
  • Donate to CF Personnel Assistance Fund
  • Donate to Operation Santa Claus
  • Donate to MFRCs
  • Become a corporate donor or sponsor

Q: Why the yellow ribbon?

A:
  • Through several generations, the yellow ribbon has been the recognized symbol of support and safe return for military forces.

Q: What about the Red Fridays?

A:
  • While keen to support the Red Fridays initiative, it is important that the yellow “Support Our Troops” ribbon does not lose the ‘brand recognition’ that has been built up over the years (CANEX also has red t-shirts, golf shirts, and sweatshirts embroidered with the yellow ribbon, a maple leaf and words “Support Our Troops”)

Q: Where can I buy the “Support Our Troops” merchandise?

A:
  • The CANEX division of CFPSA is the only official supplier of “Support Our Troops” merchandise that is sanctioned by the CF.
  • Merchandise can be purchased online from the www.CFPSA.com/supportourtroops website or in all CANEX stores.
  • Proceeds from the sale of official “Support Our Troops” merchandise go directly into morale and welfare programs for CF members and their families.
