Customer Service par excellence

I feel that too often a good deed goes unnoticed or unrecognized. I therefore wish to recognize the extra efforts put forth by two employees: Dorothy Boutilier and Carolyn Turcotte of the CANEX retail store in CFB Petawawa.

I had come into the CANEX retail store at closing time on a Sunday to make a last minute purchase. As I made my way to the cash, another patron was asked if he had a Club XTra Card for his purchase. He inquired as to what a Club XTra Card was and Dorothy, who was standing nearby, gave him all the details and advantages to having it. The patron stated that he had purchased major appliances several weeks ago and that had he known about the card then he could have earned several points. Dorothy apologized for the oversight and after verifying the information, assured him that the points from that sale would be added to his account.

I had a similar experience with Carolyn Turcotte. I had come into the CANEX retail store and had asked where I could purchase fresh dill. Carolyn, working the front cash, said that she had dill growing in her own garden and that I could have as much as I needed. I asked for a price and she responded that she didn't charge people for what grew in her garden. She then gave me her home address. When I arrived, she gave me a bag with the fresh dill and another full of seeds for my own garden.

Petawawa is such a small community; some might say that Carolyn's actions were because we all work for the same agency. I however, had never met Carolyn prior to this encounter and what she did gave me a great feeling about CANEX in general.top

If all of us took the extra time and effort like Dorothy and Carolyn did, think of the impact we could generate for CFPSA and our clients! I am proud to say that Dorothy, Carolyn and I work for the same agency and suggest that these employees be congratulated for their customer service excellence.
