Grievances
Q. How do I go about filing a grievance?
Employees are encouraged to discuss their concerns with their manager in an attempt to resolve issues informally. In the event that issues are not resolved through the informal process, unionized employees who wish to file a grievance can seek counsel on the grievance process from their union representative, local president or shop steward. Non-unionized employees should consult NPF Human Resources Policy and Procedures to receive information on the grievance process. Grievances should be submitted to the local NPF HR Manager using the Grievance Form.

Q. One of my colleagues wears a perfume that gives me a headache. What do I do?
You may choose to discuss your concern with the employee directly - if you do not feel comfortable, you may bring your concern to the attention of your immediate supervisor, who will, in turn, liaise with our Health and Safety Manager.

For more information, please visit the Official Languages site.

Effective 1 January 2005, full-time NPF employees must enroll in the pension plan from their date of hire, with deductions to commence with the employee's first pay.

Recruitment and Selection
Q. Where can I find job opportunities for Non Public Funds (NPF)?
You may access job opportunities by clicking on Career Opportunities. Additionally, your local HR Office will have job postings available. Please note union members will be given priority for collective bargaining unit positions.
Q. Do internal candidates have priority over external candidates?
If the vacant position is a bargaining unit position, members of that bargaining unit who apply for the vacancy will have priority for selection as outlined in their collective agreement. For non-unionized positions, the hiring manager has the option of holding a closed competition for NPF employees only, or an open competition. In the event that the competition is open to internal and external candidates, preference may be given to internal candidates, however NPF employees are not guaranteed priority over external candidates.
Q. What are NPF's views on Employment Equity?
NPF is committed to Employment Equity. We welcome applications from designated group members. Please visit Employment Equity to learn more about our workplace initiatives.
