File a complaint - your language rights
When employees (or the public in the case of Part IV) believe that their OL rights have not been respected, they have the right to make a complaint. These may be internal (within CFPSA) or external (to the Commissioner of Official Languages). Complainants are encouraged to submit internal complaints in as much as possible via one of the following structures:
- Management structure can be asked to look into it and address the problem; or
- The CFPSA OL Advisor can be contacted to conduct an investigation.

For advice concerning your rights and responsibilities under NPF Official Languages Policy or to discuss registering a complaint, please contact the Manager Official Languages at 613-996-7818 or by email ol@cfpsa.com.
If personnel feel it is required, they may take the complaint (externally) to the Commissioner of OL to investigate.
Part IV, Part V, Part VII, and Section 91 are explicitly subject to "court remedy".
While all parts of the law must be respected, these four elements have the extra weight of being subject to court remedy before the Federal Court-Trial Division. When a complaint that has been handled by the Commissioner of OL is brought before the Court and CFPSA is found to be in violation of the OLA, the Court has the authority to compel compliance of CFPSA and/or to award any reasonable damages to the complainant.
Whatever procedure may be followed, employees are encouraged to contact the Manager Official Languages at 613-996-7818 or by email ol@cfpsa.com.
