Occupational Health and Safety Program

The Canada Labour Code, Part II is an Act of Parliament and Non Public Funds (NPF) is required by law to apply this legislation.

In order to comply with the Canada Labour Code, Part II, NPF has a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program which encompasses policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure OHS considerations are incorporated in every.aspect of operations, as well as training and support activities provided by Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Forces (CF). This program provides managers with various management tools and techniques to reduce accidental losses.

The NPF Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program contributes to the achievement of operational effectiveness by reducing workplace-related injuries, material losses and by enhancing the overall well being of employees and customers. However, without the active involvement and participation of all NPF employees, this Program cannot be effective. OHS is essential to safe, healthy and stress-free work places and it is our goal to ensure that everyone takes a personal interest in identifying, reporting and eliminating health and safety hazards in the work place. Therefore, all employees, customers and contractors must adhere to these simple goals through stated health and safety procedures and by using some simple common sense.
