Qualifications:
- High School diploma AND some retail or food service experience, or in a related hospitality field
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience will also be considered
AND
- Smart Serve Certificate or equivalent, an asset
AND
- CPR and First Aid certifications.

Salary based on a six-month contract $20,367.50 - $22,580

The length of employment for each position is six months.
Approximate starting date for employment opportunities is staggered from May 2009 to September 2009.

Language requirement: English essential, (French / English)an asset.

Experience requirements:
- In handling cash
- In providing customer service
- In serving simple menu items
- In operation and daily maintenance of retail equipment
- In ensuring quality of products meet established standards
- In working in Tim Hortons, an asset
- In previous quick service food preparation and/or baking, an asset
- In serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, an asset
- In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing.
 
Summary:
Under the direction of the Retail Operations Supervisor, the Retail Attendant is responsible for providing a high level of customer service at a Tim Hortons outlet, various retail stores, canteens and messes. He/She is responsible for completing the sale, ensuring the correct amount of payment is received from the customer, operating a cash register and properly presenting and/or wrapping the customer's merchandise. The Retail Attendant is also responsible for the daily housekeepimg of the outlets, as well as ensures proper merchandising and rotation of the product. This position may involve some baking as directed by supervisor

Allowances: Approximately $1000.00 to $2500.00 a month (non-taxable) allowances will be added to the compensation plan.

Conditions of employment:
Offer of employment will be subject to the successful completion of a health, dental, psychosocial assessment, Enhanced Reliability (security) check, credit check and pre-deployment operations training program.

Additional requirements:
Willingnes to perform with a non-conventional workweek
Canadian citizen
Possess current Canadian passport

Position requires heavy lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. 50 lbs/23 kg or more)
