Assessing Your Own Organization

IA & R now offers an exciting new service designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your program, organization or operation. The Control Self Assessment (CSA) is one of the latest and most interesting management techniques for identifying problems and developing appropriate solutions.

CSA simply means that managers and their employees meet with a specialist facilitator to analyze the strengths and obstacles that impact their ability to do their job effectively and achieve their organization's desired objectives. The process uses electronic voting machines and works similar to focus groups you see on T.V. The emphasis is on employee involvement and cooperative solutions.

A typical CSA session follows this pattern:

  • Some advance planning is done to identify the problems and issues that need to be addressed.
  • Focus groups of 8-14 managers and employees come together to discuss pertinent workplace-related issues and vote anonymously on various options using electronic entry machines.
  • A IA & R facilitator provides on-site guidance and operates the specialized electronic equipment.
  • Within 24 hours, IA & R prepares a report including an action plan agreed to by attendees.

For more information about CSA, you can contact a IA & R representative. You will then be put in direct contact with a CSA facilitator who will provide detailed advice, guidance and assistance.
