Canadian Forces Show Tour Heads North
NR 08.011
November 21, 2008
Ottawa (ON) – Canadian Forces Personnel will be energized by visitors from home. A Canadian Forces (CF) Show Tour, featuring a group of Canadian performers, will visit Canadian Forces Station (CFS) Alert, Canadas most northerly military base in the High Artic, from December 5th to 10th. Show Tours to deployed operations and remote locations in Canada are a part of the morale and welfare programs organized by the Canadian Forces Personnel and Family Support Services (CFPFSS).
The show will open with singer Jenny Galt and a mix of French and English rock followed by actor/comedian Shaun Majumder. Patricia Conroy, the duo Carmen and Camille, Alan Frew, a Canadian and international recording star, Sierra Noble and the band Atlantic Crossing will be the other artists performing.
CFPFSS has a long tradition of providing Show Tours to CF members serving overseas and in isolated locations. Over the course of a six-month rotation, a CF Show Tour plays an important part in major operations and is always a big morale booster, bringing a small piece of Canada to deployed military personnel.
