SISIP Financial Services to contribute $100,000 to Volunteer Recognition Program

SISIP Financial Services, a division of the Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency (CFPSA), has renewed its commitment to the Volunteer Recognition Program (VOREP) for another year.

Their $100,000 contribution recognizes the vital role that volunteers play in many Personnel Support Programs (PSP) and Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) initiatives.

"SISIP Financial Services is very proud to sponsor this important initiative, which recognizes the many volunteers who give time and effort to support our Canadian Forces military communities at home, as well as in the United States and Europe," says Pierre Lemay, President SISIP Financial Services.

Last year alone, nearly 5,000 volunteers were recognized at 47 events across Canada, the United States and in Europe thanks to the VOREP. While some locations chose to celebrate with formal dinners and awards presentation, others put a new twist on an old idea. There were pig roasts and BBQs, casino nights and boat cruises; some groups even held special events for youth volunteers only.

"SISIP Financial Services has enhanced the opportunities for PSP and MFRCs to recognize their volunteers," says Laurie Ogilvie, National Recreation and Youth Service Manager at PSP. "Volunteers are essential to these programs."
