Reorganization of Soldier On

Effective January 2010, the administration of the Soldier On Fund falls under the direct management of the DGPFSS’ Senior Manager Military Families Fund, Sandy Gauthier. The delivery of services associated with the Soldier On program became the responsibility of Casualty Support Management (DCSM) under the direction of Col Gerry Blais. This reorganization of the fund component brings together all the Support Our Troops funds such as Military Family Fund (MFF), Operation Santa Claus, Hospital Comforts Fund and Soldier On to allow for better oversight and more focused fundraising efforts.

Military Families Fund provides emergency support to military families when events related to the conditions of military service disrupt normal family life.

Soldier On provides active support to seriously injured or ill CF personnel targeted at enabling the pursuit of physical activity, recreation and sport.

Hospital Comforts Fund ensures that hospitalized CF members, wherever they happen to be, have access to toiletries, reading material and other basic comforts.

Operation Santa Claus provides a gift package to every CF member that is deployed over the holiday season.
