Family resources for parents of single soldiers

CFPSA Salutes…the Gander and St. John’s Military Family Resource Centres for their outstanding contribution to the success of the launch of "Support to Parents of Single Regular Force Members". The new Military Family Services Program (MFSP) policy enables all parents of single soldiers, such as the Fords pictured above, to receive support through their local Military Family Resource Centre before, during and after deployment.

The Denwood Times hits the streets....

CFPSA salutes…the youth and staff of CFB Wainwright who recently published the first edition of The Denwood Times, a community newspaper for youth. The Denwood Times is an initiative of the CFB Wainwright Youth Advisory Committee. The purpose of the newspaper is "to provide youth an opportunity to connect, collaborate and celebrate in the achievements of other youth within the community."

Funding for the entrepreneurial project was provided through support from local businesses and the CFPSA Personnel Support Programs National Youth Model Project.

Hats off to the youth of CFB Wainwright for the outstanding first edition of The Denwood Times!

CFPSA salutes…the Staff of the Non-Public Funds, Canadian Forces (NPF, CF) This year, Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency (CFPSA) celebrates an entire decade of "Serving those who Serve". CFPSA—with 5,800 NPF employees on bases, wings, units, and at CFPSA headquarters in Ottawa—operates with a fundamental principle in mind: enhancing morale and welfare for the CF members and their families. Through its three divisions, CANEX, PSP and SISIP FS, the CFPSA provides programs and services to CF Regular and Reserve Force members, military families, DND employees NPF employees and RCMP personnel. NPF employees are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the military community. This dedication is reflected everyday in the services they provide.

Happy Birthday to the CFPSA and all of its divisions. Here’s to another decade!

CFPSA Salutes...The Valcartier Garrison for their hard work towards revitalizing three community parks.

Over the past three years, the Base Commander has invested over $125,000 of public and non-public funds into three park projects to enhance the quality of life of private military quarters (PMQ) residents. These projects were lead by the Personnel Support Programs (PSP) Community Recreation services in concert with Engineering services and local private businesses. These investments allowed the base to replace older structures that did not meet current safety standards. We salute the Valcartier Garrison for the successful revitalization of community parks.
