Return of the Charity Campaign Trim Our Tree for a Toonie

CANEX and the Military Police Fund for Blind Children (MPFBC) partner again this year for the charity campaign “Trim Our Tree For A Toonie”. Over the last five years, thanks to the generosity of CANEX patrons, over $30,000 were donated to the fund to assist visually impaired Canadian children.

“CANEX is proud to support the Military Police Fund for Blind Children”, explains Brian Tweedle, Director, Merchandising & Marketing. “Our annual ‘Trim Our Tree’ campaign raises awareness and funds for this worthy cause, through the generosity of our customers!”

All CANEX outlets take part in this national initiative launched on November 12 and will end on December 24. A Christmas tree will be installed in each outlet and patrons wishing to contribute are invited to buy a $2 donation card to decorate the tree.

It is a simple way to contribute to this fund that was established in 1957 by Colonel James Riley Stone, CM, DSO, MC, CD, who was then Canadian Army Provost Marshal (Military Police), to help blind children. Since its creation, volunteers from the CF Military Police have exercised stewardship of the Fund and its continued success.
