Note on the song writer

Réjean Simoneau wrote this song while working as an upholsterer at Canadian Forces Base Valcartier in Quebec. The idea of writing a song about Peacekeepers came to him as he got to meet the numerous soldiers and officers who were leaving the country for a peacekeeping mission or returning from one. His passion for music as well as a growing respect for military personnel going through troubling experiences enabled him to write the song "A Peacekeeper's letter home". The song quickly won the hearts of his colleagues as well as those of thousands of others who had the opportunity to listen to it.
