Physical Fitness Training (PFT) is important for all members of the Department of National Defence (DND). However, it is also important to provide training that improves the quality of life of Canadian Forces (CF) personnel and their families. The Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency (CFPSA) Training Centre-which replaced the Canadian Forces School of Physical Education and Recreation (CFSPER)-is a train-the-trainer institute at CFB Borden with both a mandate and courses designed to meet these needs.
This site offers information on courses available to assist both you and your staff in meeting your physical fitness training, sports, and recreation goals. Whether the course is Basic Fitness Training Assistant, Advanced Fitness Training Assistant, Unit Sport and Fitness Officer, Recreation Activity Leader, Hockey Officials, or our CF High Performance Sports program, leaders at all levels need to ensure that troops are provided with high-quality training that is delivered in a professional, effective, and safe manner.
Graduates of the CFPSA Training Centre courses are motivated to plan, administer, and/or improve unit PFT and other programs by organizing a wide variety of activities and challenges, in conjunction with base PSP personnel.
If you or your staff would like to initiate the nomination process and attend any of our courses, the CFPSA Training Centre schedule of serials is available through MITE (G3 Individual Training).
