OC Transpo buses already had a small SOT decal on the front of their buses. Now sixty-five buses are carrying large SOT posters on the back of the vehicles. The campaign was launched on October 20 and will run until January 2009.

The city of Ottawa was chosen for this initiative because a majority of CF members currently in Afghanistan are from Petawawa and the Ottawa area has always been a strong supporter of SOT. “If this campaign is successful, we would like to run it in other cities at times where there are significant deployments”, explained Brian Tweedle, Director, Merchandising & Marketing.

The goal of the initiative is to raise and maintain awareness of and the profile of the Support Our Troops program in order to generate profits that will be invested in morale and welfare programs for the CF community.
