In 1968, the year CANEX was created, the cost of a Chevrolet Corvette was $4,500 and Canada’s population was 20,441,000. Forty years later many things have changed, but CANEX’s mission to ensure the availability of competitively priced products and services to satisfy its customers, and to generate revenue for Bases, Wings and Units has remained the same.
To mark its 40th anniversary and thank its patrons, CANEX organized a Retrospective contest. All summer CANEX clients were invited to submit their stories explaining how they experienced CANEX. Many entries were received and participants were automatically entered for a chance to win one of five wonderful prizes. “It is heart warming to read the many submitted articles. Their experiences make us proud as an organization and we will continue to meet the needs of the Military community by offering a diverse range of merchandise, advantage programs and superior service!”, explains Mac McMillan, Vice President CANEX.
The draw took place in September and five happy customers were awarded prizes ranging from a Microsoft XBox 360 Gaming Package to a pair of laundry appliances. The contest was a huge success thanks to the military community who responded in large number to the invitation to submit their stories.
