The CANEX is an awsome place to buy electronics, while in Valcartier I wanted to buy a t.v, I shopped around and found a place better priced. The guy at CANEX sold me my t.v at the same price as elsewhere with a 10% rebate. Keep up the good work.

In 1969 I bought a state of the art stereo from CANEX. It folded up like a suitcase and the two halves could be split and set apart at a distance of approx. 8 feet to produce the stereo aspect. For the size it had great sound. It cost me $80.00 and for a lowly Able Seaman that was a fair chunk of change. It was the best 8 Track player I ever owned.

I had bought a ring from a gold sale that had a nice beautiful saphire stone and some diamonds for my wife, when she saw it for the first time she was so exstatic she went crazy and still brags about it to this day.

I bought my very first TV from CANEX in around 1976! I was lucky enough as a civilian to be able to live in PMQ's and went to CANEX to buy a TV. The television I purchased had recently been returned because something very minor did not work on it and I got it for a great discount. I think I paid around $399 for it. A lot of money way back then but the TV lasted me for years. I have used the "plan" several times as well and have always been very happy with the service at CANEX.

When I was 9 - 13 years old (1974 - 1978) I lived up north in Inuvik N.W.T. Besides the CANEX, the only other stores I remember were Rexall Drugs, Hudson's Bay, and one other expensive grocery store. The CANEX always had the best prices from my parent's perspective, but from my perspective, the CANEX was the Candy Store, the place to buy Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts, and even where to buy my sister's Birthday and Christmas gifts. There wasn't a lot to do in Inuvik for me and up there, we were about a year behind the times regarding what was available in the south. So whenever my parents said we're going to CANEX, my sister and I always jumped at the chance.

During my many visits to CANEX I have found the staff to be very friendly, knowledgeable and most accomodating. I have taken advantage of the "PLAN" on several occaissions. I have purchaesd a snowblower and a lawn tractor through CANEX and have found the prices to be better or very comprable to local merchants.

When I was 6 years old, I lived in Masset on the Queen Charlotte  Islands. My sister was only 3 at the time, and as with most siblings, we  got along great...In those days, a kid could walk to school and around  town without fear. One day, my sister and I found a lot of money in my  Dad's jewellery box. There were fifty dollar bills, and at least one 100  dollar bill. We proceeded to walk down to CANEX where I spent it all on a  whole lot of candy (and a few pocket knives). The girl behind the counter  must have figured that something was not right, because she called my  parents, who in turn marched me and my sister back to the store where we  had to give back all the candy. (at least the stuff that hadn't melted or been eaten already) You'd be surprised how many kids come out of the woodwork, when you're walking through town with three big bags of candy... Note: When the base closed, the CANEX closed and became a Field's store.

My first TV: I purchased my first TV, a 20" Emerson from the CANEX at CFB Cornwallis in 1989. The picture is as clear today as it was then.  Most of my large purchases have been via the CANEX outlets and I've never had any complaints. Keep up the good work.
