The Mind's The Matter
In honour of National Mental Health Week (7-13 May 2012), Director Military Family Services (DMFS) is proud to announce the availability of an innovative mental health resource for military families with a family member dealing with an operational stress injury (OSI).
A video series aimed specifically at youth and spouses called The Mind’s The Matter has been produced and is now available on www.familyforce.ca – a website for and about Canadian military families.

Return to Work Support Program for the Staff of the Non-Public Funds, Canadian Forces
We are pleased to introduce the Return to Work Support Program, a new initiative that helps eligible employees manage their time away from work due to illness or injury. Working in partnership with Great-West Life/Morneau Shepell, the Program facilitates employees’ recovery and works with employees to develop a safe, healthy and sustainable return to work. By providing dedicated support during all phases of the transition back to work, the Program is designed to ensure that employees are well taken care of both while they’re away and during their return.

Calling on former CFPFSS employees who have deployed to Afghanistan
There will be a requirement for travel coordinators over the next two years to serve with the Canadian Contingent Training Mission in Kabul. Employees other than travel coordinators may also apply and will be considered on a case by case basis. If selected you will undergo re-certification training to ensure you are up-to-date with current operation requirements. Very important to note is that only applicants selected for re-certification training will be contacted. Send your interest/availability/desire to deploy via email to Pion.Daniel@cfpsa.com no later than 01 June 2012. No other means will be accepted.

My Role in the CFDS: Pumping up the Defence Team
Todd Cirka works every day to literally strengthen the Defence Team. Employed by Personnel Support Programs and working with the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff as the Outside of Canada Physical Fitness Coordinator, he is responsible for the overall fitness of CF personnel who are deployed throughout the world.
